阿拉斯代尔·麦克唐纳在爱丁堡大学图书馆，他曾担任过职务自2014年1月，他曾担任图书馆管理员超过23年的元数据统筹，专业元数据自2000年以来他以前的角色是书目维护和权限控制部负责人the Bodleian Library, Oxford University, where he co-ordinated the Bodleian’s NACO cataloguing programme and worked as the metadata lead for the Bodleian Libraries’ Inventory Control Project from 2009-2011, which undertook an inventory of over 7 million items from the Bodleian collections. He has also worked at the National Library of Scotland and Edinburgh Council Music Library.
